Position Summary 

The Quality Technician II supports critical food safety and quality initiatives through environmental monitoring, product evaluation, data & document management and overall compliance across the facility. The Quality Tech II is highly proficient in data analysis, trending, and documentation, enabling proactive quality improvement and regulatory compliance.

  • The base pay range reasonable expected to be paid for this position $30 - $42/hour.  Actual compensation is based on a variety of factors unique to each individual candidate including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Key Responsibilities 

Facility & Operations Support 

  • Support the facility’s environmental monitoring program, including data collection and review. 

  • Support finished product evaluations, including sensory testing, pH, brix, and other analytical measures. 

  • Assist with the disposition and timely release of finished products that meet internal specifications. 

  • Perform inspection and testing of incoming raw materials, ingredients, and packaging components as needed. 

  • Perform program and/or site assessments as needed. 

Data Review, Trending, and Documentation 

  • Compile, review, and analyze test data to identify quality trends or areas of concern. 

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of environmental, incoming, and product testing in appropriate systems. 

  • Support Quality Supervisor in preparing trend reports, graphs, and summaries for internal use or audits. 

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Meeting Participation 

  • Actively participate in site meetings related to GMPs, HACCP, food safety, and food defense. 

  • Provide input during risk assessments, preventive control discussions, and food safety team reviews. 

Quality System Support 

  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, BRC, Organic and other site-specific programs. 

  • Support and participate in internal audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews. 

  • Assist in the management of product holds and investigation of deviations or non-conformances. 

  • Act as a technical resource for documentation, SOP adherence, and standard quality procedures. 

Team Collaboration and Support 

  • Provide guidance and training to other staff as requested. 

  • Serve as backup for other QA roles, including support for finished goods release and quality checks during off-shifts or absences. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot quality issues and provide real-time resolution on the production floor. 

Qualifications 

Education and Experience 

  • Associate degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or related field required (Bachelor’s preferred). 

  • 2–4 years of experience in a food manufacturing quality or lab environment 

Skills and Competencies 

  • Proficient in microbiological and analytical testing methods used in food production. 

  • Critical thinker with a high attention to detail.  

  • Skilled in documentation control, test record accuracy, and data integrity best practices. 

  • Effective communication skills across teams and departments. 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with precision and a high level of organization. 

  • Comfortable participating in and contributing to food safety discussions and audits. 

Certifications (Preferred but not required) 

  • HACCP Certification 

  • PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) 

  • Better Process Control School
